November is National Adoption Month!

November is National Adoption Month, a month set aside to raise awareness about the adoption of children and youth.
Number of Adoptions from Guatemala:

2007: 4,728

2006: 4,135 (one of these were Maegan!!)

2005: 3,783

2004: 3,252

2003: 2,328

2002: 2,219

I am deeply saddened by these numbers because as you can tell each year the numbers grew. Now with adoptions halted in Guatemala, where are all these children and babies going? Their futures are dark.

Current estimates of the annual number of infants adopted domestically (excluding foster and relative adoption) range from 25,000 to 30,000!!

It is soooo hard to look at our children and think about all the others with no "forever" family. Praying that one day, adoptions will be open and the women in Guatemala will have a choice.
